[Tournament] Charlotte VS Luke

Tail flame ablaze, Charla stepped onto the battlefield. The training she had done over the week or so between matches had paid off, and she was ready to throw everything she had into this battle. She tightened her gloves, and nodded to the announcer.

"I'm Charla! Ready ta go!"

He had read a book about type advantages and disadvantages, so he chose a suitable gijinka which had the water-rock type. Yes, an Omastar.
"Illusion of Omastar!"
He had told the Ambipom yesterday to call him as an Omastar, but the foolish ambipom had forgotten again.
He walked on to the stage, and called-
"Luke Luquinn, an Omastar, ready to fight!"

Her opponent, according to the Ambipom, was a Zoroark. Tryin' ta scare me into thinking he has a type advantage, huh? Don't think I didn't see the other competitors, pal.

All the same, the water terrain was much to her disadvantage. Flames wouldn't last long here. Luckily, she'd been undergoing some intense training with Ember and the Old man for close-range combat. Time to begin.

As the flags dropped, Charla immediately rushed forward, aiming for a Scratch attack.

He grinned as the terrain was for his benefit, but the water would be a disadvantage to him when he pulled off his illusion.He had to increase the water level if to fight well. Crouching down, he sent a water gun at the water near the inclming gijinka. Then he used illusion again to raise the water level. Then he hid under the water.

(OOC: That's not how Illusion works, Luke... not to mention, the water is only 5 cm deep, not enough to swim in... oh well. I guess you will pay the price. ~<3 )

Charla was startled as the Omastar in front of her fired a spray of water, but managed to stay on-course. "That kinda crap won't work on me!" She charged right through the flimsy illusion... to see her opponent trying to duck under the shallow water?

She was pissed.

"Don't look down on me, dangit!" the Charizard yelled, throwing one of her ridiculously powerful punches downward at her (foolish) opponent.

And then he truly realized that the illusion was of no use. Again, he pulled off the illusion and used a Scratch on the fist that was coming in. But it had been too late.The fist connected to his chest and felt really awful. Nontheless, he had to attack.He jumped back and used a Pursuit.

Her opponent tried to counter her blow but from that position, it was an easy dodge, especially after her training with Ember. Charla's punch struck full force in the center of the Zoroark's torso with devastating power. Luckily for the Zoroark, the water seemed to have softened the blow, and he was back up in moments.

Charla watched as her opponent jumped back to gain some distance. How is he able to move so easily after a hit like that? she wondered. Her foe gave her no time to think, rushing in at her with Pursuit.

Fine with me. I wasn't planning on running anyways. With her fist balled up and ready, Charla ducked, then threw a powerful right straight into where her opponent's torso would be.

The punch had been severe, his torso wasn't feeling so good. He watched as she tried to duck, and grinned. He used hone claws.
"Sorry for you, but the Pursuit was to gain distance."
He ran right across the gijinka and turned around- barely missing her punch-and used Scratch on her exposed backside.

(OOC: Pursuit can't be used to gain distance, only to get closer, thus it's name. Not that it affects your post much, but it's something you should remember in the future.)

With surprising speed, the Zoroark managed to avoid her punch, leaving her wide open from behind. In a panic, Charla let the momentum from her punch carry her forward into an attempted dodge, but it wasn't fast enough to avoid recieving a large scratch on her back. She grit her teeth in pain, but caught herself before she hit the ground. Looks like she needed a new plan.

Quickly getting up, Charla wheeled around and exhaled a thick Smokescreen into the face of her dark-type foe, covering the battlefield with a dark haze. Using it as cover, she slipped back, careful not to make too much noise. Let's see how he handles this she thought, and tossed a couple handfuls of Embers through the smoke.

(OOC : Mistake of wirds, It's actually " get closer".)

The gijinka spurted a smoke screen in his face . He hadn't time to react, and got caught in the haze. The first ember got caught in his hair, and half of his hair got burnt. Sadly he got a new haircut but his hair got a little lighter and now he knew where the embers were coming from. He used a scratch on the water and caused a splash enough to use as a sheild. The rest of the embers were blocked. Then he ran to the source of the embers.

(OOC: If that was the case, then Luke would have been moving towards Charla, and would have both been in range for the punch and not had the time to use Hone Claws.)

The sound of a large splash told her that her opponent had thrown water up to block some of her embers, and his footsteps hastening in her direction told her it was time to move. Using the sound of her opponent's footsteps to cover her own, Charla moved through the smoke, tossing more Embers at her opponent as she went.

More embers were flying to his way. He had been disappointed that he had no special attacks until he trained really hard and these embers were just pointing that out. Very well. I'll show you a dark type attack. Shielding himself from the embers, he used a illusion of torment.
"Well, embers won't work now."

(OOC: Torment is a confident laugh... it's not something can can create an illusion of, and even if you could, since you don't know the move, it wouldn't have any affect.)

"Beg to differ" Charla replied, sending one last handful of mini-fireballs hurtling through the smoke.

That being said, she couldn't exactly spend all of her time hitting from a distance. Besides, the smokescreen was beginning to fade. Deciding she needed to finish this, Charla spaced herself from her opponent, and took up a familiar stance as a small ball of blue energy appeared between her hands...

(OOC : Then what can I use a illlusion of? I can imitate moves, I can't make an illusion of gijinkas, what can I imitate? Oh , yes. Wait a sec.)

He jumped as the illusion didn't work again, and he got hit again by small embers. Very well, time for my trap card. He muttered under his breath.
"Illusion of landscape 1.3."
The Arena was just like before, except there was a person hurtling himself down towards his enemy. And that, was a person she would understand. It was the old man.
Using the man as a disguise, He sneaked up behind her.

(OOC: According to the site rules, you can make an illusion of yourself, and of nearby objects, but being an illusion doesn't mean it's real. For example, your Water Gun earlier could have appeared as an actual jet of water, but since it isn't real, Charla is more than able to just pass right through it. You would have had more luck just splashing the water on the ground. Basically, you can perform what LOOKS like the moves, but you can't actually use the moves themselves. Torment, being just a confident laugh, has no appearance.)

"Draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa......" as Charla began charging her attack, the smoke finally settled, revealing in it's place, a very familiar figure.

"Gooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnn....." the Old Man? What was he- oh, right. Zoroark. He must have figured she'd be intimidated by one of the strongest fighters known to ever enter the arena, and it was a bit startling to meet the face of her teacher, who now bore down on her with incredible speed.

Too bad she'd always wanted to try this on him.

"RAGE!" Charla thrust her hands forward, releasing a massive roar of energy towards her quickly approaching foe.

He was now truly pissed at nothing worked against her. And now she was there, launching excessively powerful Dragon Rage at her menter. Even thought the first part hadn't worked, the second part should work. The people outside were talking to themselves about the entrance of the person. The mr.mimes would take him out though. But a gigantic Dragon rage was upon him now. He quickly took out his Dread plate- traced its rune- and used a pursuit - doubly fast. He knew he had only a few moments, but he got out of the way just barely. The next hit would be fatal though.

From the effort of using a Dragon Rage, Charla was exhausted. The steam floated lightly off her hands as she observed the results of the blast. A large crater had been carved in the floor, causing the water to pool up on the inside. It wasn't deep enough to swim in, but the water on the arena floor now flowed out of the arena, leaving the floor finally clear enough to stop impeding movement.

Her opponent, on the other hand, was mostly untouched. He had used some sort of dark-type move to evade at the last second. He at least seemed to understand that the move probably would have KO'd him if it hit.

Charla was getting weary. Her opponent had taken a lot of hits, and didn't seem ready to fall just yet, so she was going to have to take things into her own hands. Gathering a ball full of Embers in each hand, she rushed her opponent, intending on finishing the fight with her specialty: close-range combat.

The opponent was coming, and Luke knew he had a few moments before he could do anything. Al right. Let's finish this. He used illusion to send off a Night Daze and used a pursuit, jumping in the meanwhile.
