[Tournament] Volt VS Charlotte

Charla stepped forth onto the battlefield, fully set and ready to go. Her Flame Plate was set into the back of the fingerless glove on her right hand, her tail flame roared with life, and she was all warmed up. So why did she feel so scared?

"How the hell did they find out my last name?!" Charla panicked. Even from the ground, she noticed a few people in the crowd who recognized that last name. Hopefully, she could just fight as brutally as possible to erase all thought that she might be connected to... well, him.

Her eyes scanned the crowd for signs of Lucy Luffet, her Wobbuffet friend and roommate. "She must be up there somewhere..." she still had a little time before the match officially started.

In the back of her mind, she went over what she knew about her opponent. His name was Volt, a Raichu who ran the Ba- I mean, "Tavern" down by the seashore. Supposedly he had violent tendencies, and had gone after people a few times. Only her first real fight, and she was already facing one of her biggest fears... Charla shook her head clear. She had to win. To help pay back her debt to Lucy!

"I'm Charla! Ready ta roll!"

As the flags came down, Charla immediately launched herself at her opponent, fists at the ready.

He's an electric type, she reasoned, so it would be easiest to fight him up close!

As she closed in, she drew back one fist, ready to throw a haymaker...

In the instant before she made connection, she thought only one thing to herself: Is this guy an idiot?

The whole crowd heard the impact as Charla connected, snapping Volt's head to the left. Ready to take advantage of the situation, she drew back her left to follow up with a body blow...

Charla felt her blow connect hard in the opponent's ribs, her fist sinking into the skin of her opponent. He actually felt kinda sticky... what was he covered in?

Before she could take a guess, a sharp pain went through her forehead, causing her to stumble. ''That's called dirty boxing, lass," the raichu taunted "and I'm ready to die here!''

He stood there, oddly enough, allowing her to recover. Her face took on an angry look. "Good answer!" She charged forward once more, and jumped at him, as if to deliver a flying punch, but as she swung, she opened up her hand and released a spray of red-hot Embers.

Success! The Raichu gijinka definitely felt that one! Her triumph did not last long though, as he responded with a blow right back. In mid-air, she couldn't just dodge backwards. The blow connected- hard. Her head went flying back, and her body followed, resulting in her crash-landing on the other side of the stadium.

With some effort, she picked herself up off the ground. That had really hurt! She needed a way to attack without getting hit back, or at least keep him from seeing her attacks.

Pulling down her aviator goggles, Charla took a deep breath, then exhaled a Smokescreen onto the field. With that in place, she was sure she might be able to hit him good.

Charla barely stifled a scream when the lightning bolts went flying everywhere, even into the audience! Thankfully, a series of Mr. Mime gijinkas were placed around the borders, and the bolts bounced harmlessly away.

The charizard gijinka, on the other hand, barely avoided a bolt that exploded next to her, shattering the tiles and spraying her with rubble.

Alright! Time to get him! Using the smoke as cover, Charla darted in, pushing through rubble as thundershocks blasted nearby. Her best bet was to dash in, land a quick Scratch, and get out!

I got 'im! Charla cheered to herself.

It was short lived. The Raichu got a firm hold on her legs, and she fell, slamming into the ground. She'd managed to get her hands up in time, but that HURT! Especially in a particularly sensitive area. She fought to keep tears from her eyes.

"That's no way to treat a lady!" She yelled, thrusting one of her hands back with a fistful of Embers. Charla heard a scream, and felt the electric rat's grip loosen, giving her a chance to break free. Using her wings to give her distance, she stood on the other side of the stadium.

"Hey Rat! If you're as strong as you think you are..." she threw her hands back, assuming a familiar stance (for manga fans), "then you'd better show me everything you've got!"

Charla closed her eyes and concentrated. Hard. Remember what the old man taught you. she thought, roar like a true dragon!

"Draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..........."

Energy began to swirl in the space between Charla's hands, building slowly...

"Gooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnn........"

The entire stadium began to rumble as the two fighters charged up their massive attacks. The vortex of energy that was being concentrated into her hands expanded, drawing massive amounts of power. Eyes shot open as she finished gathering power and thrust both hands forward.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!"

A blast of bright blue energy erupted from her hands, making a glorious roar as it raced towards the Raichu Gijinka...

'' Ok, this is it. There's ain't no going back. Survival of the fittest!''

Volt body was shacking with power and so was the arena. Wild arcs of electricity were running down his body

- VOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLT!!!!!!!


Volt unleashed the most powerfull thundershock of his entire life, using up all his supplies of electricity remaining.

The yellowish beam of electricity raced toward the Charizard gijinka, as Volt roared out with all his might

The spectacle people witnessed that day would be talked about for years to come. Many claimed it was as if two demigods had descended, and claimed that spot as their battle ground. The roars of dragons and crackle of thunder shook the area, as the two beams collided with each other.

Charla felt her blast collide with Volt's, and knew immediately that it was going to be a tough fight. With all her strength and will, Charla pushed into the attack. With her emotions and spirit running so high, her tail flame erupted in a blaze.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!"

The two beams exploded, filling the entire stadium with a cloud of smoke and rubble. As it began to settle, the two figures appeared to the audience.

Thanks to her tail light, the audience saw Charla first. She was standing, barely, covered in dust and bruises. She barely held herself up and her knees buckled, but what had become of her opponent?

Volt had never fought such a strong opponent before.

As Volt's beam collided with Charla's, he felt that he was weakening.
The two beams exploded with tremendous force and the stadium was shaken to it's very core.

The spectators would never forget of this clash between titans.
As Charlotte appeared first to eyes of the crowd in the mist of smoke and rumbles, the crowd began to cheer her name.

However, when the unconscious body of Volt appeared, lying on the ground, the crowd cheered even louder for that they all had wished for his defeat.

Charlotte was acclaimed as he real hero.

Volt was knocked out.
His skin was burned black and his consciousness had faded away, his body being unable to withstand to strength of the explosion.

Still, there was a slight smile on his unconscious, burned-over face.

Charlotte was the true winner.
