Fern's training spot

Fern set up his training dummies in various spots around the battle area. The targets were of various sizes and shapes and were in a vital spot for most gijinka. Fern took ten paces back from his little mock fight and played through it in his head. First he would hit the dummy closest to him then he would attack the one to the right and end with the one that was on the left. He came up with a punishment game for if he failed to beat his course in under 30 seconds. He would have to either do 100 laps around the stadium or do 1,000 push ups.

Fern got into a ready position and started attacking the dummies in order. When he gazed at the clock after he was done it 31 seconds had elapsed. He sighed and started to run laps. When Fern finally finnished his laps he collapsed and looked at the full moon that had snuck up on him. "Well thats just my luck. I need to lighten my punishment games." Fern said retiring for the night.

The next morning he came back with fire burning in his eyes. This time he would finally beat his dummy challenge. Fern rushed forward and hit the dummies when he looked at the clock it read that 29 seconds had passed. Fern struck up a victory pose for he had finally beaten his fathers time for the challenge.

Fern returned to his training spot to try another kind of training. He set up the dummies again in a fasion where he would have to move from point to point in order to hit them. Fern took up a fighting stance to attack the dummies. He struck swiftly using pound on the first dummy shattering it. He punched the next dummy with pound again except this time his hand had a slightly green tint to it and didn't tire him out as much as the first pound did. Fern punched the last dummy this time the fist was even greener than the second time.

When fren was setting up new dummies he heard one of the other gijinka say "Did you see Fern I think he learned how to do drain punch." So thats what this new move was called. It wasn't complete yet but he wanted to master his new attack soon.

Fern came back to his spot this time he didn't bring dummies and was instead going to shadow box. He envisioned the foes he had wanted to beat and the ones he has battled to give him insperation. He first battled against the pokemon he faught when escorting Suida in the caves. He did a lot of jumping and avoiding attacks and every so often he would counter attack with moves of his own. He did this for awhile but he felt that something was missing.

Fern sat and meditated about what he was missing and finally figured it out. No matter what he thought they would do they were themselves and he could not think of what they would in every situation. Fern came up with the idea of hanging wood from the branches of the tree and dodging them. He figured if he could do this then just maybe it would help him picture what his enemies would do.

Fern started the training and it was much harder that he thought it would be. He timed how long he lasted between hits and it was around 7 seconds. He continued for over an hour slowly raising the time he avoided the wood for around 15 seconds when he stopped for the day.

There was a hariyama gijinka in the spot that Fern uses when he arrived at his spot today. The gijinka was using a move that Fern had never seen before so he asked the man about the move. "This move is Force Palm, You look like you have the talent to learn it." The hariyama gijinka said running him through the motions of using the move. Fern tried doing the move though he did it it was no where near the level of his teacher.

The next day Fern continued to practice under the man. He was learning the move quickly but it was hard to think that this move could be used at melee or short range. Mastering this move would prove hard but it would give him an edge later on when he did various jobs for the explorers guild. Fern tried again this time it was almost perfect just it was losing power the longer it went away from him. Right now he figured a full power hit had a range of five feet and a partial hit would be at a maximum of ten feet away from him.
